DayBreak
In-Home and Group Respite Program
DayBreak serves seniors who:
- Would like socialization
- Have disabilities
- Have Alzheimer’s disease or any form of memory loss
- Have a caregiver who needs a break
Participants should:
- Not require constant supervision
- Be ambulatory with minimal assistance (walkers, canes and wheelchairs are acceptable)
- Be continent or have managed incontinence
- Be able to feed themselves
- Be independent in taking medications
- Not have a history of violence to self or others
- Be able to respond to redirection and be able to participate in group activities
DayBreak Activities:
- Social time with coffee and snacks
- Speakers on a variety of topics
- Crafts, table games, cards and BINGO
- Sing-a-longs, gentle exercise and movies
- Guided reminiscing and small group discussions
